Documentation:

A valid passport is required for entry into Tanzania. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months after the end of your planned trip.
Please check with your departure country for visa requirements. Visas can be obtained at all points entry
and embassies.

Vaccinations:

It is recommended that you make sure all your routine vaccinations are up to date. Hepatitis A B and typhoid vaccinations are also recommended.

Malaria prevention is recommended if you plan to visit areas of Tanzania below 1800m above sea level,
for example, Rubondo island national park in western Tanzania.

Luggage:

Hard case and wheeled luggage are not recommended for your safari. We recommend a soft weighing a maximum of 10 -15kg per person; a reasonable amount of photographic equipment is also allowed.

Currency:
In Tanzania, the currency is Tanzanian shilling TZS. Visa and Mastercards are widely accepted but American Express is not.
US dollars printed after 2000 are also welcome

Insurance:

It is strongly advised that you take out fully comprehensive insurance including medical, injury, delays, loss and damage of property and death. Africa Diurnal Safaris & Tours will not be held responsible for any such claims.

Please note: tickets of medical evacuation insurance are available on request.

Liabilities:

All persons carried in the company vehicle are governed by the respective laws of the land and all claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania.

Climate:

The temperature rarely falls below 200/68 F except in the highlands. Heavy rainfall in March-May and then again in November and December.

Electricity / Voltage:

In Tanzania, the voltage is 220-240 volts (North American voltage is 110-120 volts so an adapter is needed for North American Devices)

Safari wear and accessories:

The recommendation includes lightweight cotton trousers and shirts, cotton bush jacket/fleece, safari boots, hats, t-shirts, scarf, tissues, wipes, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, flashlight, travel alarm clock and sunglasses.

Mountain wear and Accessories.

Recommendations include anorak, fleece, pants, short and long sleeves t-shirt , gloves, thermal underwear, hat, balaclava/woolen hat, walking boots, woolen socks, gaiters, crampons, sunglasses, snow goggles, thermal water bottle, headlamp, walking pole, toiletries , chronograph wristwatch, sunscreen, lip salve, swiss army knife, hand towel, fur-season, sleeping bag pack, first aid kit and backpack cover.
