Big Five Safari Tanzania

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our safari guide will greet you based on your flight schedule. You will then be transported to Arusha town, which is approximately a one-hour drive away.

Once you reach the lodge, you can relax and unwind as you prepare for the exciting adventure of your big five safari in Tanzania the following day.

In the morning, you will be greeted by your private guide and vehicle at your hotel in Arusha, followed by a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, you will have ample time to embark on a late morning game drive that will extend into the early evening. After your adventure, you will be transferred to your reserved accommodation for an overnight stay.

The Tarangire River flows through the park, drawing a significant population of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and antelope, especially during the dry season from June to October. It is common to witness large herds of elephants traversing the savannah or seeking refuge under the unique baobab trees scattered throughout the park. Additionally, Tarangire is home to over 550 bird species, making it the most diverse avian habitat in Africa, including the Kori bustard, recognized as the heaviest flying bird globally.

You will be collected by your guide today for an extensive game drive in the park that will last until late afternoon. Following this adventure, you will be transported to your reserved accommodation in Karatu, where you can enjoy a relaxing evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

You will be collected from your hotel at 7:00 in the morning, after which you will embark on a journey to Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro is renowned as one of the most remarkable areas within Tanzania’s Conservation Area, notable for hosting an impressive variety of animal species per square kilometer. During your visit, you may encounter buffalo, elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, hippopotamuses, and various feline species, including caracals and servals. Those fortunate enough might even spot a rhinoceros, a species that is facing a rapid decline in population.

By lunchtime, you will reach the designated picnic area, where lunch boxes will be provided. Following your meal, the safari will resume, concluding a few hours later with a transfer to your accommodation in Serengeti National Park.

You will spend an entire day in the Serengeti, providing you with the chance to explore the expansive grassland plains that extend as far as the eye can see. If you wish, you can experience the reserve from a unique perspective by taking a hot air balloon ride in the early morning hours, which is available for an additional fee and requires prior reservation.

Following this, a bush breakfast will be served before you embark on a game drive along the Sogore River. This area is adorned with beautiful acacia trees and is home to a variety of wildlife. After enjoying lunch, you will proceed to the Serengeti Kopjes, which rise prominently from the surrounding lowlands. These rocky outcrops are known to attract big cats, as they offer an excellent vantage point for spotting potential prey. After a day filled with exploration, you will return to the lodge for a delightful and well-deserved dinner.

Embark on a morning game drive that will extend into the early afternoon, traveling from the Serengeti to Manyara with a transit through Ngorongoro. Prior to your journey through Ngorongoro, take a moment to visit a Maasai Village, where you can engage in cultural exchanges with the Maasai people. Following this enriching experience, proceed to Olduvai Gorge.

At Olduvai Gorge, you will have the opportunity to explore significant archaeological findings, including some of the earliest human and animal remains discovered in the region, which contribute to our understanding of human evolution. After your visit, you will continue to your lodge in Manyara, where you can unwind for the evening, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

You will be collected from your hotel in the morning and shortly transported to the stunning Lake Manyara National Park, where you will embark on a game drive that will last until the afternoon.

Discover the park’s breathtaking scenery, characterized by the expansive soda lake located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. This park is renowned for its large population of elephants, the iconic tree-climbing lions, and countless flamingos, all of which you will have the opportunity to observe before returning to Arusha town for your pre-arranged accommodation or being transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your subsequent journey.
