Drive from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi depart with a drive to Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s known for its heroic efforts at saving endangered and threatened wildlife. The Rhino sanctuary here hosts 100 black rhinos, the largest protected population in East Africa. Also, of note, the last two northern white rhinos left in the world live in this protected enclave. The park also hosts the Sweet waters Chimpanzee Sanctuary – home to orphaned and abandoned chimps that are rescued and nursed back to health. When they’ve been rehabilitated, the chimps are introduced to large natural enclosures where they can live and play freely.

Drive from Ol-Pejeta to Lake Naivasha

Ol-Pejeta – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast drive to Lake Naivasha with a stop at Thomson falls. Arrive at lunch time; after lunch you will glide by dozing hippos as they awake to see us passing by and you will take in the active birdlife hovering about.

Now that everyone is awake, you will enjoy a short, guided walking safari to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. This little park is filled with yet more grazing game so check out the wildebeest, waterbuck, and gazelle strolling about. Nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary gives us an opportunity to stretch our legs on a guided walking safari viewing small games. And, an optional bicycle ride to Hell’s Gate National Park will bring you up close to grazing antelope, buffalo, zebra, and giraffe.

Drive from Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara

After breakfast depart for Masai Mara, one of East Africa’s most famous reserves, Masai Mara consists of undulating hills and great rolling grasslands that sustain some of the most varied wildlife in Africa, if not the world. Arrive in time for lunch.

Depart for the late afternoon game viewing in Masai Mara, where lion, elephant, cheetah, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest, gazelle and other plains game abound, not forgetting the hundreds of species of birds.

After breakfast, depart from the camp with packed picnic lunches for an extensive full-day game drive in the renowned Masai Mara. This national reserve is famous for its spectacular annual migration, during which wildebeests and zebras traverse from the Serengeti to Masai Mara between July and October.

Experience an exhilarating eight-hour game drive, featuring numerous close encounters with a variety of African wildlife. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to observe majestic lions, elusive leopards, swift cheetahs, formidable buffaloes, gentle elephants, graceful gazelles, large elands, cunning hyenas, and waterbucks, among others.

In the evening, you will be driven back to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Drive from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

Masai Mara – Serengeti National Park

On this day, you will say goodbye to the Masai Mara and Kenya following an early breakfast. You will embark on a game drive en route to Isibania, the border crossing point between Kenya and Tanzania. Please be aware that there will be a change of vehicle and guide; however, this transition is smooth and should not cause you any concern. Once the immigration procedures are completed, with our guide managing all the required documentation, you will be introduced to your new Tanzanian guide/driver. You will then proceed to the Western Serengeti for an evening of game viewing before retiring to your reserved lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Begin your day with breakfast at the lodge, then set off in the morning light for a half-day game drive through the Central and Eastern Serengeti. Afterward, you will leave the Serengeti behind as you exit the park and make your way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Upon reaching the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will travel north to Oldupai Gorge, a site of immense archaeological significance that sheds light on the origins of humanity. As you enter the museum, you will have the opportunity to explore the fossilized remains of various animals and over fifty hominid species that date back nearly two million years.

After this enriching experience, you will settle into your reserved accommodation located on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Today, you will begin your journey in the morning following breakfast at the lodge, setting off for a half-day game drive at Lake Manyara until lunchtime. This location serves as an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s avian diversity, with over 400 bird species documented; even those visiting Africa for the first time can reasonably expect to spot around 100 species in a single day. Beyond the floodplain lies a narrow strip of acacia woodland, which is home to Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions and majestic elephants with impressive tusks.

After enjoying a picnic lunch, you will say goodbye to Lake Manyara and proceed to Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive en route to your lodge. Today, you will embark on a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park, departing from your lodge with picnic lunch boxes in hand.

Tarangire is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including lions, buffalo, and various species of antelope, as well as wildebeest, giraffes, and zebras. The park spans approximately 2,600 square kilometers of pristine wilderness, featuring rolling plains adorned with baobab and acacia trees.

In the late afternoon, you will drive to your booked accommodation in Arusha for a relaxing evening at the lodge, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

After your breakfast in the early morning, you will depart from Arusha town and head towards Amboseli National Park, crossing the Tanzania-Kenya border at Namanga. It is important to note that you will switch vehicles and guides at this point, allowing you to reunite with the familiar face and vehicle of your Kenyan safari guide, with whom you spent the initial five days of your adventure. Once the immigration procedures are completed, with your guide managing all necessary paperwork, you will proceed with a brief drive to Amboseli National Park.
