Lake Victoria & Rubondo Island

At approximately 7:00 a.m., following your breakfast at the hotel in Mwanza, you will board the ferry at Kigongo to traverse Lake Victoria. This journey will lead you to the opposite shore, where you will begin your drive to Mganza via the tarmacked road through Geita, a trip that typically takes four to five hours. Upon reaching Mganza around lunchtime, you can enjoy a meal while preparing for an exhilarating speedboat cruise to Rubondo Island. After arriving on the island in the late afternoon and checking into the Park Bandas, you will have the opportunity to spend a few hours exploring the island on foot, engaging in bird watching, and witnessing the sunset over Lake Victoria before returning to the Bandas for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, after your breakfast in the morning, depart from the bandas for a half-day excursion on Lake Victoria. During the cruise, you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife, including numerous bird species, hippos, and crocodiles, among other fascinating sights.

After the excursion, return to the bandas for lunch and take some time to relax in the afternoon while savoring the refreshing lake breeze.

Later in the evening, enjoy some animal viewing until the sun sets. Conclude your day with dinner at the bandas, where you will  spend the night.

After breakfast, gather all your belongings and board a boat back to Mganza, where you will meet your driver. From there, you will head directly to Busisi for a ferry crossing. En route, a stop will be made in Geita for lunch before proceeding to the ferry. You are expected to arrive in Mwanza by evening, where you will either be dropped off at your reserved accommodation or transferred to Mwanza Airport for your subsequent journey.
